Webinar in the course of the Finnish-German call for proposals

Um die Zusammenarbeit mit Kooperationspartnern aus dem Ausland zu erleichtern, hat das BMWK mit mehreren Ländern Vereinbarungen zur gemeinsamen Innovationsförderung für den Mittelstand getroffen und grenzüberschreitende Ausschreibungen initiiert. Die Verfahren der Begutachtung und Bewilligung der Förderanträge sind unter den beteiligten Ländern abgestimmt.

Vor diesem Hintergrund freut sich das BMWK, die gemeinsamen Ausschreibungen für deutsch-finnische Innovationsprojekte am 3. März 2025 fortsetzen zu können. Die Fördermittel werden jeweils aus den nationalen Programmen bereitgestellt – für die deutschen Partner aus dem Zentralen Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand (ZIM).

Eine bedeutende Neuerung der zukünftigen Zusammenarbeit ist, dass Business Finnland hierbei erstmalig Zuschüsse anstelle von zinsgünstigen Krediten für finnische Unternehmen ermöglichen wird. Mit der Wiederaufnahme der deutsch-finnischen Ausschreibung und der Einführung von Zuschüssen durch Business Finnland werden noch attraktivere Bedingungen für gemeinsame innovative FuE-Projekte geschaffen.

For the first time since 2021, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) and Business Finland, the Finnish Innovation Promotion Agency, will publish a joint call for research and development projects.

In order to facilitate collaboration with cooperation partners from abroad, the BMWK has reached agreements with several countries on joint innovation funding for SMEs and initiated cross-border calls for proposals. The procedures for assessing and approving funding applications have been harmonised between the participating countries.

Against this background, the BMWK is pleased to be able to continue the joint calls for proposals for German-Finnish innovation projects on 3 March 2025. The funding will be provided from the national programmes – for the German partners from the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM).

A significant innovation of the future cooperation is that Business Finland will for the first time allow grants instead of low-interest loans for Finnish companies. The resumption of the German-Finnish tender and the introduction of grants by Business Finland will create even more attractive conditions for joint innovative R&D projects.
