Japan is currently the 5th most important export destination for EU agricultural products.  The tariffs cuts resulting from the EPA will further boost EU-Japan trade for many agricultural and food products.

Japan has agreed to liberalise 87% of all agricultural tariff lines.  These lines cover almost 90% of trade value.

The EPA furthermore recognises and protects more than 200 EU Geographical Indications on the Japanese market, including Asiago, Mozzarella di Buffalo, Vino Mobile di Montepulciano, etc.

Since the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) launched in February of last year, there has been a sharp increase of food export from the EU to Japan.  Yet, many EU exporters perceive an access to Japanese market is still difficult because of culture, language and other international trade barriers.  A webinar is organized to present useful and practical information for German food producers and exporters and help familiarize with Japanese food market and custom clearance process and procedures.
