National Contact Points at ZENIT

National Contact Points, NCPs, have been set up to assist in the promotion and implementation of the EU's Framework Programmes for Research. They are responsible for individual thematic areas, are a central source of advice for interested parties, potential applicants or parties in the process of implementing a project, and represent Germany in the relevant programme committees at EU level.

ZENIT performs this function in two areas on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

In the context of the 7th Framework Programme, ZENIT is responsible for the specific area "Research for the benefit of SMEs". The objective is to support groups of up to seven innovative small and medium-sized enterprises or their associations in the solution of technical problems by means of subsidised contract research.

The ICT Policy Support Programme is part of the CIP framework programme (Competitiveness and Innovation Programme). It supports the introduction of electronic services in the public sector and which are of public interest. Core topics include public administration and subjects such as health, integration and energy.
