NRW.Europa supports Enterprise Europe Network
Egypt
Following the four-day visit of an Egyptian
governmental delegation to ZENIT GmbH at the beginning of February
2009 to learn from the NRW.Europa team about the management,
organisational form, working procedures and activities of its Enterprise
Europe Network consortium, a follow-up meeting took place mid-March
in Cairo. Some 30 representatives from the Ministry of Industry
and Trade as well as most Egyptian technology centres and centres
of competence were trained by two ZENIT experts in the framework
of this workshop. Training focused on the use of various co-operation
instruments for the mediation of business and technology partnerships
between Egypt and Europe. The outcome was that first technology
offers and requests were compiled by Egyptian technology centres
and enterprises and entered into the European databases. Enterprise
Europe Network Egypt and NRW.Europa have agreed upon further close
co-operation for the future. This training for the Ministry of Industry
and Trade, the technology centres and centres of competence took
place in the framework of Medibtikar, a project under the EuroMed
innovation and technology programme. This programme was launched
by the European Commission and is supervised by the Delegation of
the European Commission in Cairo. Egypt is the first country bordering
the southern Mediterranean to become a partner in the Enterprise
Europe Network (EEN Egypt).
